The search modes


Two modes of research are available.

  • The first makes it possible to simply look for a person by either his name, or his name and his village of residence.
  • The second, called extended search, makes it possible to carry out a more precise research if you know one or more information on the person sought by notching or filling one or more fields. If several fields are indicated, only the answers which satisfy all the criteria are given. In this mode, it is possible to combine all the criteria according to research to be carried out. The only mandatory field is the name.

    • Criteria

    The search criteria are:

    Surname: two options are available: " is " or " starts with ".

    Firstnames: 3 first names are possible if you know them : there is a drop-down list which makes it possible to choose a first name present in the database.

    Civil status: married, single or widowed.

    Religion: possible values: any, Catholic, Protesting, Jewish or other

    Gender: any, male or female.

    Profession: there is a drop-down list which makes it possible to choose a profession present in the database.

    Family relationship: it gives the family relationship with the head of household.

    Village: to choose in a drop-down list which contains all the communes present in the database.

    Age: available options : " is ", " lower than " and " higher than "

    Comment: this field corresponds to the column " Observations " of the register. It is possible to search for one or more words which could appear in this field of the database.
